Lille is a northern French city on the northern tip of France in French Flanders. Located on the Deule River near the border of France and Belgium, it is the Hauts-de-France region capital as well as the capital of the prefecture of the Nord department. Around 225,000 people call Lille home and over a million live in the surrounding urban area making it the fith largest urban area in France, though only the tenth largest city.

Située sur le fleuve Deule près de la frontière française et belge, c'est la capitale de la région des Hauts-de-France ainsi que la capitale de la préfecture du département du Nord. Lille accueille environ 225 000 personnes et plus d’un million vivent dans les zones urbaines environnantes, ce qui en fait la plus grande agglomération de France, bien qu’elle soit la dixième plus grande ville.
